Testimonials:
Marta Sanchez creates incredible paintings and poetry. Not only is her work aesthetically beautiful, it is profoundly meaningful, thought provoking and challenging. I highly recommend her interactive presentations using art as a catalyst for education and healing. Marta is a gifted soul whose workshops will benefit survivors, activists and anyone who cares about their community.

In addition to being a brilliant and inspiring artist, Marta is a gifted workshop facilitator, lecturer, and activist. When she presented her workshop, "The Healing Power of the Arts", she displayed an uncanny ability to establish an intimate and safe environment quickly in a room of strangers.
Like great activists that have come before, Marta shows enormous strength and resilience by allowing herself to be vulnerable in the service of making the personal political and the political personal.
By encouraging workshop participants to choose one of her paintings and speak about how the image resonates with them, she is able to make a universal connection between common experiences of pain and loss and the spiritual and emotional process of healing after violence.
I truly feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet Marta in person, hear her speak, and to become more acquainted with her illuminating artwork and poetry.
